This is my first refinishing project. The desk was already stripped and sanded down some before I started. I had to do some light sanding and the chair had some loose pieces that I had to fix. I had heard about this paint called chalk paint and I did some research on it. I was a little skeptical about it but I thought I would give it a try. I happen to work at a hardware store and we just started carrying Amy Howard chalk paint. I took a look at it and thought this would be a great project to try it out on. So I looked at some colors and picked something that I thought would fit the piece and make a great accent to someones decor. I painted the pieces as directed and finished it with paste wax and buffed it out. I chose a color called French Blue and I painted the trim white. I was at the step of upholstering the chair and was looking at fabrics. I had one in mind but saw this other one and thought hmm that might work. I put new foam and finished the seat cushion and WOW was I shocked at how it matched perfectly and the pattern really set it off. I found a few knobs and pulls that would stand out too. To say the least this is one of the nicest pieces I have ever done. It took a lot of work and time and I think it payed off because it looks beautiful! I really hope somebody buys this and enjoys it as much as I did making it. It is a rare piece so don't miss out on this one. I hate to see it go but it will be a conversation piece for sure! Antique Desk and Chair
This is my latest piece! It is an antique desk and chair. There are four
drawers. Not sure of the time period but I am pretty sure it is quite
old considering the style of the chair and how sturdy the desk is made.
It is quite heavy. The dimensions are 55" wide by 24" deep by 30" high.
